Ann Stott is an award-winning Executive Creative Director at Candlewick Press, a publisher of books and content for children. She has collaborated with many best-selling children’s book authors and illustrators, including Carson Ellis, Jon Klassen, Melissa Sweet, Jessica Love, Juana Martinez Neal, Peter Reynolds, and LeUyen Pham. Many of the books that she has designed and art directed have achieved the highest levels of acclaim and success, most notably the Caldecott medals and honors, Greenaway medal, Stonewall honors, Geisel honors, BolognaRagazzi prize, and Orbis Pictus awards. Her books frequently appear on the New York Times and IndieNext Bestseller lists. And, most importantly to her, they are beloved by readers all over the world.

Before working in publishing, Ann was a designer and art director in the advertising and consumer product industry. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Visual Design with a concentration in illustration and a Master’s in Education. 

Ann is the mother of two sons, cat-mom to Mackerel, and is a children’s book author, herself. When not making books, Ann enjoys restoring her old house on the north shore of Massachusetts with her husband and occasionally breaking out her paints and easel.
